Mike Morgan has been making art since high school (Hoquiam High, Class of 1966). He graduated from Central Washington State College (now CWU) in 1971 with a degree in art education. He taught art and world cultures in the Toledo School District for 30 years, retiring in 2003.
Mike is versatile in many mediums including drawing, painting, photography, pottery, architectural and landscaping design. But his personal favorite is sculpture. Usually working with multiple materials, his art often has a political or social overtone.
Mike and his wife Di own and operate the Morgan Arts Centre. They teach art classes throughout the year at the M.A.C. In July, they run Camp Picasso for kids. In addition to teaching, the Morgans host yearly events like Vernal Equinox Art Fair, The Battle of the CowlArtz (high school student art show), and the Holiday Art Market in November. The Morgan Arts Centre is also the meeting place for ARTrails of Southwest Washington.
The Morgans also operate the artist co-op at Art Gallery 505 in downtown Toledo, Washington.
