Rachel McSweeney was born in Ashland, Oregon in 1975. Shortly after, her family moved to Wyoming. Having grown up both next to the Rocky Mountains and in close proximity to Yellowstone National Park, her love of the outdoors grew tremendously. Throughout her life, Rachel has always been fascinated by the wilderness, the animals that live there and dreams. Rachel began painting in oils and pastels when she was 15 years old. She expanded into watercolor in 2005, and acrylic in 2017. Rachel enjoys all of these mediums to explore the imagery of her dreams and her love of the wild. Rachel cherishes this connection with nature. She feels that the artistic exchange between the land and the artist opens up her heart and soul, bringing a balance that is needed in this world. Rachel lives in Chehalis, Washington.
